»A project succeeds when people come first«
Petter Almås
Manager
A charismatic team player based at the Trondheim office
From the moment you meet Petter, his energy and enthusiasm are contagious. He describes himself as an outgoing person with a strong commitment to building a sense of community.
»I try to bring energy and enthusiasm wherever I’m involved,« he says with a smile. »I need to feel a sense of belonging, and I want others to feel the same, whether at work or in social situations.«
For Petter, leadership isn’t just about the big decisions; it’s about the everyday moments that shape a positive work culture, and he understands how small actions can have a big impact in everyday life.
»I believe that simple things—like asking about someone’s weekend or recognising good work—help create a supportive and welcoming environment where everyone feels seen and valued,« he explains.

Building a strong team
Petter’s interest in leadership and people has been a key part of his journey, dating back to his master’s thesis at NTNU, where he focused on change processes and transformational leadership—a style he closely identifies with. To him, leadership isn’t just about managing projects; it’s about motivating and uplifting the people around him.
»It’s about building a team, like a football team, where people care about the badge on the front of the shirt, not just the number on the back,« he says, explaining that his approach to leadership is to see the team as a whole and invest in their development.
»I’m not a typical individual athlete—if I were a skier, I’d be part of the relay team. I thrive in a team environment and want to be part of something bigger.«

Leading with people in focus
Currently, Petter is working on the Møller Mobility project—one of Netcompany’s most complex and ambitious projects. »Møller Mobility is a massive project, and I see it as an opportunity to truly put my leadership philosophy into practice,« he says. Here, he gets to apply his leadership skills by managing a team that collaborates across multiple areas.
But Petter isn’t just a leader—he’s someone who genuinely cares about the growth of those around him. »I see it as a personal victory when I see the people I lead start to lead others or master something new,« he says, reflecting his commitment to helping others develop. His leadership style is people-focused, always striving to get to know his colleagues well to understand their ambitions and what motivates them. »I make it a priority to really get to know each individual,« he explains.

Looking ahead
As he reflects on the future, Petter is driven by a clear goal: to continue growing as a leader while helping others do the same.
»I have many role models at Netcompany, and I want to keep pushing myself to become a better leader while also helping others grow.«
For Petter, success isn’t just about delivering great projects—it’s about building strong teams, fostering a sense of belonging, and ensuring that people always come first.
